If you have cats, you know they puke. They usually prefer to puke on rugs and other hard-to-clean surfaces rather than easy-to-clean surfaces like wood and tile floors. The fountain is no exception. My cat, or cats (I have two cats, and don't know who the guilty party is) would puke IN THE FOUNTAIN. Since the fountain runs continuously, the puke would find its way to the drain holes in the fountain, clog them, and cause the fountain to then pump all of the water out onto my hardwood oak floors. Ruined them. Twice.Cats are not dumb. When they puke on something they will usually be grossed out by it and stay away (depends on the nature of said puke). The fountain is no exception. This sensor works great to provide water only when they approach the fountain. If/when they puke in it, they will avoid it and the pump will not run. And if they do activate the sensor, the pump will not run long enough to flood my kitchen.Others have mentioned that this product has failed within a week or two. I've been using this for about a month now with no issue. Currently trying to think of other creative uses for this product.
