IMPORTANT UPDATE ON 3-24-14: This post is kind of backwards but I would rather not re-write it. Essentially, if the package comes with a driver disc, use that first. You may have to set it for compatibility mode for Win 2000 or XP and maybe run the installation disc as an administrator as well. If that doesn't work well or is buggy, see [1~ below.Create a Restore Point using the "System" icon then "System Protection" in the Control Panel before attempting this.Wacom does not supply a driver for this unit for Windows 7 if you search the list, including legacy drivers, at their website. I did, however, find a driver which I installed today on my new computer and it's working great so far. This is the name of the driver file: (Wacom) cons521-6a_int.exe which can be found as of today, here: http://www.wacom.eu/index4.asp?pid=29&list=allNow, if you have Win 7 and plug in your Tablet, the computer will probably (as it did on mine) install a generic driver which does allow the tablet, stylus and mouse to work but it does not include a user interface for setting the fine adjustments of the devices. Practically useless. You can install the disc if this package comes with one and see how that goes. [1~ If you have problems though, I would uninstall the drivers and the DEVICE and then RESTORE THE COMPUTER to your last restore point.]When that's done, install the file above, shut the computer down, cut all power to the computer or pull out the power cord to flush recent memory, plug in the tablet with the power still off and then restart the computer. You will be able to access the GUI for the tablet from the CONTROL PANEL since no icon is present in the system tray for easy access. You will see an icon called "Pen Tablet Properties". Do not use "Pen and Touch".If you want to incorporate "swipes" because you have a touch screen, I'm afraid you're on your own. I don't have one. The "Pen and Touch" interface includes that feature but it may conflict with the other GUI's settings. Use your own judgement. This tablet, pen and mouse set is still working great for me. I need to mention that it does NOT require batteries. The tablet plugs into your USB port and that's it. The pen and mouse are sensed by the tablet and never need batteries. The driver software allows for easy switching from "What you see is what you get" pointing to old-fashioned regular mouse behavior on the fly. That is, if you prefer to surf the Web with the mouse set on a fast speed to get you across your monitor faster, you can easily switch it over then back again for drawing or editing images. Here's how to set it up: Go to the Pen Tablet Properties GUI. Set one of your pen's two buttons to activate "Pop up window" which will show a pop up menu on the screen when you press it. Go to the Pop up menu tab at the top. Choose from the drop down list "Pen mode" and then "Mouse mode". Do the same for the Mouse. I used the wheel "click" for the pop up menu assignment since I've never used it for anything else. Now you will be able to switch between the two modes (assuming you've set them up with different parameters) by pressing the button for the pop up menu and clicking your choice.Questions? Comment me.ORIGINAL POST:I bought this a few years ago so I don't know about availability of drivers. Check with the company first to make sure it's compatible with your pc or mac. I do all kinds of art work and this product is indispensable for doing anything which requires multiple strokes with a mouse. Also much more accurate than a mouse for doing photo retouching or anything where fine detail is important. You may think you're pretty good with a mouse and don't need this but I can promise you that once you start working with one you will be addicted. I have done some serious work with this model and you don't need to spend more unless you are a professional. The pressure sensitivity levels are more than adequate for me.
