When the Ethernet port on my laptop broke I ordered this to use until I can get it fixed. The installation CD DOES NOT have the drivers for Windows 7 - those have to be downloaded from their website. Once I had the drivers installed it did not work immediately, but after unplugging it and replugging it in several times the computer finally picked up the connection. After about a hour of use the case that holds the connector together somehow completely fell off- It just fits together...nothing really holds it in one piece. The first time I unplugged it (to put the case back on) it wouldn't connect to the internet right away- I had to do the 'plug and unplug' song and dance again to get it to connect. Also at one point it was emitting a high pitched noise when plugged in, but that stopped after a few minutes.In my opinion, If it is for a single device that will not be unplugged very often, such as a desktop, this would be worth it. If you have to use it as a main connection and will be disconnecting it often - this may not be the best choice.I will be keeping it until I have a chance to fix my Ethernet port and then just keep it as a back up. For less than $20 it's not that big of a hassle - for now.
