Intenso Rainbow Line Memory Stick 32 GB USB 2.0 TransparentI decided to go for Intenso Rainbow Line Memory Stick 32 GB USB drive mainly because I enjoy watching movies and pictures as well as listening to music transferred from the PC onto my big TV screen. For that purpose I would normally plug it into a Blu Ray or DVD player USB slot. In the past I used to have a few San Disk Cruzer pen drives which performed up to scratch but I wanted to try this new brand after reading some positive reviews about it and give it a go. I must say, so far this little gadget has exceeded my expectations!I will list some of the pros and cons of Intenso USB.ON THE PLUS SIDE:- Solid and sturdy build- Transparent case which lets you peer into internal works of the drive - you can see the flash memory chip, USB mass storage controller and printed circuit boards, which is quite a nice feature for someone who likes to know how the stuff works from the inside- The drive comes with a tip cover for the metal male plug that connects to USB port, which many of its competitors lack (it provides additional protection if you carry it in your pocket or wallet and don't want to get it damaged or dirty)- It's got a really good capacity of 32GB (you won't get the full 32 gig but actual storage of 26.9 GB; it's expected in all of these types of devices - for those who like technical details, the discrepancy stems from the manner in which different manufacturers calculate a megabyte of memory. This is well explained in the following article, see FAQ No 3 on [...]- The speed of up to 28 MB/s makes it fast as lighting, no crashes, dropping framerate or stuttering even when watching larger sized videos; it happened a lot to my older drives- It did not require a format and worked straight away after I plugged it into the PC. Although I did format it later on, as I wanted to play with different formats it supports (NTFS, exFAT32 and NTFS). Mind you, it won't play exFAT when you plug it into a DVD player/Blu-Ray, as these devices mainly support FAT32 file format. However, it works like a charm if you plan to use it with your PC/laptop only.- Size 65 x 19 x 9 mm.It's not as small as other flash drives, which means you won't easily lose it- Great value for money (I only paid £11 which is a competitive price compared to other flash drives available on the market; now probably seeing the success of this item, they raised the price a bit)ON THE DOWNSIDE- Extremely intense LED backlight flashing up red when the device is being used, which could be a bit annoying, especially when you're in the dark room and want to focus on the video content you're watching, but at the end of the day it's not a major flaw as you can put a piece of dark tape over it or something similar if you're too disturbed by the 'flashing disco' light;-)- Sizeyou might say, 'Hmmmm, hold on, why did he put it on the pros list and now he's moaning about the same feature??' Well, the fact it's not a tiny, little nano USB makes is good if you're worried about losing it, but on the other hand it's more vulnerable to being knocked over and broken, especially if you have kids or animals in the house ;-)Apart from these two, this is a great gadget and so far I haven't had any trouble with it whatsoever. In conclusion, if you're looking for a fast performing, high capacity flash drive, with a fancy look and sturdy build, I would definitely recommend that you buy it :-) This is a 5 star product!I hope you will find this little review useful :-)
